Fun Facts about Sayaka
From Nagasaki, a friend of the Netherlands for over 400 years!
I've lived in the Netherlands since 2012. I chose the Netherlands to study an MBA because my hometown Nagasaki has a historical relationship with the Netherlands and wanted to do something contributing to it. I started managing a Facebook page of Nagasaki Kunchi, an annual festival with a 400-year history which has performances influenced by other countries including the Netherlands. I develop contents in both Japanese and English so that non-Japanese can also learn about the great international festival and now the page has 5.2k followers!
Certified Sake Sommelier
Do you know the word 'Nomi-nication'? It means 'communicating over drinking' in Japanese and I value it! I have a certification of WSET Sake Level 3 as well as Wine Level 1 and give a sake tasting workshop to B2C and B2B in Europe so that I can enhance gastronomic experience of European people and contribute to the increase in sake exports from Japan. Did you know sake and cheese are scientifically proven to form the perfect pairing? A Big Bird Lover
I love an animal, especially a dog and a bird. I have two parakeets in my family and love spending time with them, taking a nap together, being chased to a bathroom, fighting for foods etc.. I also like watching a bird at a park like a Egyptian goose and they always comfort me :)

I've practiced dancing since my uni. I used to participate in many dance competitions in both Japan and Europe, give a dance lesson and even join an international dance competition as a representative of the Netherlands! Now I dance just for fun and enjoy it at a park when it's sunny.. of course at an event/festival :)
